WINNER OF THE NATIONAL BUSINESS EXCELLENCE AWARD IN FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR

National Business Excellence Award ( NBEA ) for financial services has been awarded to Housing Development Finance Corporation Bank of Sri Lanka. (HDFC Bank) at the National Business Excellence Awards ceremony 2004 & 2005.

Since its inception the HDFC has focused it’s operations in providing housing finance to low income groups in Sri Lanka in which market it enjoys at present the largest share.

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka has pioneered the original concept of launching their first ever National Business Excellence Awards. There are many key sectors like manufacturing, trading , services , leisure, etc, whom the Chamber has focused attention in the NBEA scheme.

The evaluation criteria of the competition focused attention on 9 perspectives, such as the Global reach, Value addition, Excellence in products & process Renovation, Acquisition of High Impact Knowledge, Initiated future growth, Financial Stability- Steady Growth, Successful Implementation of Best Practices and Financial Growth, Successful Implementation of Corporate Governance and Practices.

The high performance achieved by HFC Bank coupled with good corporate governance, social responsibility activities and the growth of its financial strength and stability since its conversion to a licensed specialized bank in 2003 has paved way to its success.
